What is BASH’s After School Jam (ASJ) at Hamilton Elementary School?
BASH ASJ is after school care programming that operates out of Hamilton Elementary School for Hamilton students, grades PreK-2nd. Hamilton Elementary is located at 1650 W. Cornelia Ave, Chicago, IL 60657.
BASH has access to the playground, turf field, cafeteria, dance room, rock-wall, and bathroom facilities at Hamilton Elementary School.
BASH maintains a 1:10 leader-student ratio, with approximately 60-90 students every day.
BASH leaders are CPR and First Aid Certified, background-checked and trained Mandatory Reporters. Leaders devise and guide all of BASH’s movement, crafts, and games, as related to a weekly prosocial mantra.
The BASH ASJ daily schedule is as follows:
2:35 - Pickup from classrooms and check-in
2:40 - Snack
3:15 - Recess on playground
4:20 - Storytime
4:30 - Programming (3-4 activity “stations”)
5:15 - 6:00 - Free play time
BASH celebrates students through monthly Birthday Celebrations (with treats!), weekly Sunshine Awards (for students with SHINING behavior!), and Photographers of the Day (check out our Instagram @bashkidsclub to see your student’s pictures!)
What is BASH’s After School Jam (ASJ) at the BASH Studio - Lakeview?
This fall, 2024, BASH is opening an in-studio afterschool care program from 2:30p-6p, for all K-3rd grade students! The BASH Studio is located at 3435-41 N. Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60657.
BASH maintains a 1:10 leader-student ratio, with the capacity for 25 students every day.
BASH leaders are CPR and First Aid Certified, background-checked and trained Mandatory Reporters. Leaders devise and guide all of BASH’s movement, crafts, and games, as related to a weekly prosocial mantra.
The general daily programming schedule of BASH ASJ at the Studio is as follows:
2:30 - 3:30p - Check-in, snack, free play time
3:30 - 4:30p - Recess on playground
4:30p - Storytime
4:45 - 5:15p - Programming (3-4 activity options)
5:15 - 6:00p - Free play time

What does “free time” entail?
Free play at BASH is a blast! Dance, jump, and move to music on our dance floor. Build with Legos, Brain Flakes, Magnatiles, and more. Solve puzzles. Play Uno, chess, and Jenga, or explore other board games on our shelf. Complete coloring sheets created and designed by our very own Leader and Graphic Designer, Em! Get cozy in our calm corner with a good book, a sensory toy, and a fidget. Chat and chill with friends or take solo time to hang and move - free time is up to you!
How does pick-up for ASJ at Hamilton work?
Grown-ups can pick-up their BASH students anytime between 2:35p.m. and 6:00p.m.
Please text us with your student’s name approximately 5 minutes before you arrive, at 773-408-7291. We will have your student ready at the main entrance on Cornelia.
The first time you pick up your student, please be expected to present a form of I.D. Grown-ups can be authorized for pick-up when their name is added to the student's Authorized Pick-Up section on hiSawyer.
How does pick-up for ASJ at the Studio - Lakeview work?

My Hamilton student has extracurriculars. How do they get to BASH?
Please email hello@bashkids.club every semester with your student’s extracurriculars; we update attendance accordingly. Teachers send students directly to their clubs at the bell, and BASH leaders pick students up from extracurriculars at 4 p.m.
If you are picking your student up after extracurriculars at 4 p.m. please text us at 773-408-7291.
How do I record BASH ASJ absences?
Absences are expected as we live our busy, daily lives! Parents can record absences from the BASH ASJ at Hamilton Elementary on the After School Absence Form, located here. This form also lives on the Parents page of the school’s website, at https://www.hamiltoncps.info/parents.

How can I alter my After School Jam registration days?
If you need to adjust your schedule, please reach out hello@bashkids.club. There is a $10 fee for changing your registration.
